Silly Activity: Batting Beard

batting beard

If you are a quilter, you probably have scraps of batting that you haven’t quite thrown away yet. I tried to throw a wad of batting scraps in the trash, but one of my sons *ahem* rescued them. Before I tossed them away again, I poked two holes in either side of a triangular piece and hung it from my 3 year-old’s ears. He had fun wearing a full beard for a few minutes.

If you want to make this a more permanent dress-up item, just sew or tie two pieces of ribbon to either side of the beard and tie it on.

Beards are just a bit of silly fun!

What you need:

  • Scraps of flat batting
  • or, a sheet of felt
  • Scissors
  • Ribbons, optional

  1. Love it! Toss on a colorful coat & hat and you’ve got yourself an adorable lil’ gnome. ;)

Hi, I am Aimee from over at HomeSpun-Threads and I am getting together some creative/crafty bloggers (that I have loved from afar) for the month of May. The plan is that every day in May a different guest share something totally creative for kids to do during the summer. Summer time is approaching quickly and many of us parents are biting our nails trying to figure out what fun things we can do with our kids this summer. I thought this tutorial was adorable! I’d absolutely love it if you would be interested in joining me, even if you want to share a post you have done previously. Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks so much for your consideration.
