Make a Recycled Egg Carton Caterpillar

Eric Carle will forever be remembered as one of the best childrens authors of all time.  I doubt there is a single person born in the last forty years who doesn’t love The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  Celebrate both your love of the book and Earth Day (which is coming up on April 22nd) by making your own caterpillars out of recycled egg cartons.  Michelle of  Isle Tri came up with this fun project that is unbelievably simple, making it perfect for little hands.  And the best part is, you probably have everything you need to make them on hand.  Who’s up for a story?  [how to make recycled egg carton caterpillars]

Project materials:

  • Egg carton
  • Paint
  • Pipe cleaners
