Make an Alligator Pinata

When I was a kid, I went through a lot of strange phases with greatly varied interests, which ultimately led to a string of oddly-themed birthday parties.  But whether it was a safari party, an airplane party, or a Rogers & Hammerstein party (hey, I told you I was a weird kid), there was always one constant:  I had to have a pinata.  Over at Oh Happy Day, professional party planner Jordan is working on a whole series of different pinatas, including this sweet little gator.  You can use the same construction process to create just about any other animal as well!  [how to make an alligator pinata]

Project materials:

  • Cardboard
  • Tape
  • Crepe paper
  • Glue
  • Buttons or googly eyes

Hehe! Can you imagine a precocious little 8-year-old girl insisting that her guests sing “Oklahoma” instead of “Happy Birthday?”
